Tournament Protocol

Rules of Play

The following rules govern the inaugural Nightingale Barbers Open. All players must read and accept these rules as part of team registration.

01.

Tournament Format

·4 Man Ambrose — four-person team scramble.
·18 Holes played across the nominated course.
·Shotgun Start — all teams commence simultaneously across the course.
·Maximum Handicap: 36. Players above this must play off 36.
·Team Handicap: 1/8 of the sum of all four handicaps, applied to gross team score.

02.

Play & Etiquette

·All players must observe standard golf etiquette at all times.
·Maintain reasonable pace of play. Committee marshals may direct slow groups.
·Repair pitch marks and rake bunkers. Replace divots.
·No mobile phone use on the course except for photography or emergencies.
·Respect the course, fellow competitors and course staff.

03.

Local Rules

·Local rules will be issued in printed form at check-in on tournament day.
·Preferred lies through the green may be permitted at Committee discretion.
·Out of bounds, hazards and drop zones as marked on scorecard and course map.

04.

Nearest the Pin

·Contested on a nominated par-3.
·Only shots that come to rest on the putting surface qualify.
·Winner is the player whose ball is closest to the flag, measured by tournament marshal.

05.

Longest Drive

·Contested on a nominated par-4 or par-5.
·Only drives finishing in the fairway qualify.
·Measurement taken from tee marker to the ball's resting position.

06.

Beat the Barber

·A signature challenge on the par-3 9th hole.
·Players whose tee shot finishes closer to the pin than the Nightingale barber receive a prize.
·Additional Beat the Barber challenge details will be announced before tournament day.

07.

Committee & Conduct

·The Tournament Committee's decisions on all matters are final.
·The Committee reserves the right to review and adjust submitted handicaps to maintain a fair competition.
·Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in immediate disqualification from the tournament.
·Players must respect the course, fellow competitors, marshals, and course staff at all times.

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. Any amendments will be communicated to team captains in advance of tournament day.
